Volunteer: Plato’s Closet Clothing Recovery Team

Providing clothing to our clients helps them fight the cycle of poverty. We receive excess clothing weekly from Plato's Closet. Volunteers are needed to pick up what they donate and bring it to our warehouse. You can use your own vehicle or one of our trucks. We will provide all necessary training.

Background check. Driving record check. Able to lift 30lbs. Use of manual pallet jack (training provided)

Carebox Distribution involves working inside and outside the warehouse so we recommend a hat and sunscreen or coat and gloves when weather is cold. We ask that volunteers be able to lift 20 lbs. HCDBM is blessed to own multiple vehicles and it is crucial to our ministry to keep them up and running. Fleet Maintenance involves checking oil, checking tire pressure, fueling up, and general upkeep of the vehicles, This job can be done individually or with a small group. We are flexible with the day and time, please let us know in the comments when you would like to come in and we will be in touch. Work will be done outside so we recommend a hat and sunscreen. Volunteer: HVAC Filter Change

We are blessed to have a beautiful building to provide service to the communityinity. We need help maintaining it with new HVAC filters. We are looking for a volunteer who can come in quarterly and change all filters.   We are looking for someone who can climb ladder and change filters throughout the ministry.  As always, we want to be good steward of our property and want to make sure we do our best to keep routine maintenance up to par.  Proper training and safely briefing will be done by HCDBM staff before volunteer can start work.

We are blessed to have a beautiful building to provide service to the communityinity. We need help maintaining it with new HVAC filters. We are looking for a volunteer who can come in quarterly and change all filters.   We are looking for someone who can climb ladder and change filters throughout the ministry.  As always, we want to be good steward of our property and want to make sure we do our best to keep routine maintenance up to par.  Proper training and safely briefing will be done by HCDBM staff before volunteer can start work.

Come join us for Friday Night Distribution! We are honored to be the hands and feet of Christ by serving those in need.  Friday night distribution is when our client families come to HCDBM to pick up their food.

Please arrive at 5 for a brief training and introduction. Client families begin arriving at 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will greet our families and take food to their cars.  We would like you to take time to see how the family is doing and pray with them. Taking time to visit and pray with our families is an important part of our ministry.  We have case managers on site if there are any specific needs. Staff, lead volunteers, and case managers are all present if there are any questions.

We ask that we you wear closed toed shoes, hat, and sunscreen as we will be outside serving.  Water and snacks are provided.
