HCDBM is looking for those who can help muck out homes in the Kerrville flood area.  HCDBM will provide the muck out kits.  You just come by the ministry and set you up with one.  They have identified 33 homes in the Kerrville area that are needing help.  If you are interested in helping please sign up and we will get back to you with the address.

Our warehouse is a busy place! We supply over 80,000 people in the Hill Country with food, drinks, and clothing. We need help in our warehouse sorting food, bagging food, sorting clothing, and getting distribution boxes ready for pick up. Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing as our warehouse is not temperatureure controlled. We also ask that you bring a hat and sunscreen in case you are working outside. Snacks and a break room are provided.

Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in the Hill Country. It could not happen without volunteers like you!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at HCDBM. We welcome volunteers of all ages.  However, a parent must accompany children 12 and under. For our younger volunteers, we have shorter shifts available. Our warehouse needs help sorting food, bagging food, sorting clothing, and many other activities. Please fill out the form for yourself and make sure to list your children's names and dates of birth. 

All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes in our warehouse. The warehouse is not temperature controlled so please wear comfortable clothing. We also recommend a hat and sunscreen in case you are working outside. Water and snacks are provided.

We could not achieve our goal of alleviating poverty and food insecurity in the Hil Country without volunteers like you. Thank you for being here!

Help keep our ministry look its best! We are always looking for volunteers to help stock our kitchen, our restrooms, and others small cleaning tasks. All supplies and training are provided. Please wear closed - toe shoes. 

Volunteers will help direct cars while they line up for distribution. Cars will follow cones but be directed by volunteers in the parking lot. Hat, sunscreen, and weather appropriate clothing is recommended. Snacks and water are provided. 

We are needing individuals to help be the hands and feet of Christ and serve our Carebox Clients.  Our clients come to HCDBM and receive a box of food.  We need volunteers to help load the baskets of food and then take it to the cars of our clients.  Our volunteers have the opportunity to pray with them and serve them.

Providing clothing to our clients helps them fight the cycle of poverty. We receive excess clothing weekly from Plato's Closet. Volunteers are needed to pick up what they donate and bring it to our warehouse. You can use your own vehicle or one of our trucks. We will provide all necessary training.

Volunteer Requirements:

It's a produce party! Help sort and categorize produce. 

What the Produce Team does: Multiple times a week, we receive produce donations from local stores. Produce volunteers sort through the produce checking for quality and freshness. Produce is sorted and packed into equal bags for each client. This team arrives around 9 to begin work and finishes when all produce is sorted through. 

Volunteers are needed to sort through our donated food. This includes checking for quality, checking expiration dates, and sorting into the appropriate location. Volunteers must wear closed - toe shoes and dress for the weather. Snacks and drinks are provided.

Looking for those who can help with drywall removal and flooring from a home that has been affected by the flood.  Volunteers will need to sign waiver for Just Help One onsite.  Lead is Eli Bosco. If you need any muck out kits we have them here at the HCDBM for pick up Mon-Fri 9-3pm

Come join us for Friday Night Distribution!

We are honored to be the hands and feet of Christ by serving those in need.  Friday night distribution is when our client families come to HCDBM to pick up their food.

Please arrive between 5 - 5:20 for a brief training, tour, and introduction. Client families begin arriving at 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will greet our families and take food to their cars.  We would like you to take time to see how the family is doing and pray with them. Taking time to visit and pray with our families is an important part of our ministry.  We have case managers on site if there are any specific needs. Staff, lead volunteers, and case managers are all present if there are any questions.

We ask that we you wear closed toed shoes, hat, and sunscreen as we will be outside serving.  Water and snacks are provided. 

Clothing Event for clients for Oct 3, 2026

Help us look our best! We need volunteers to help mow our grounds. We provide the riding lawn mower and you provide the expertise. 

Where: HCDBM lawn

When: We are flexible but would prefer you to mow between the hours of 8 - 3 M - F. 

Help us look our best! We need volunteers to help keep our grounds and lawn maintained. This includeses weed - eating, weed - pulling, leaf blowing, and other needed tasks. We provide all training and tools. We also provide cold water. 

Where: HCDBM lawn

When: We are flexible but would prefer you to complete yardwork between the hours of 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. M - F. 

Who: Volunteers who are able to work outside and able to bend and lift. 

HCDBM is blessed to own multiple vehicles and it is crucial to our ministry to keep them up and running. Fleet Maintenance involves checking oil, checking tire pressure, fueling up, and general upkeep of the vehicles, This job can be done individually or with a small group. We are flexible with the day and time, please let us know in the comments when you would like to come in and we will be in touch. Work will be done outside so we recommend a hat and sunscreen. Closed-toe shoes are required in our warehouse. Snacks and water are provided.
