Process Description:
By serving on this team, volunteers ensure resources can be used to share the Gospel and build relationships in our community. Families don’t have to choose between food and buying medication because of our volunteers.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Background check
- Driving record check
- Able to lift 25lbs
- Animal-free vehicle to carry product

Process Steps |
|
|
|
1. |
Upon arrival at HEB Leon Springs, drive around to the back and park at Bay door. |
2. |
Shopping carts with product will be out by Bay door. If not, knock and wait for access. |
3. |
Unload carts of product into vehicle. |
4. |
Return grocery carts to front of the store. |
5. |
At HCDBM, park at Bay 4. |
6. |
If before or after hours, or weekends, use key fob to enter at door to the left of Bay 1. |
7. |
If alarm is armed (red light), enter code 9589 – then OFF (1) to deactivate the alarm. The ARMED red light will change to READY green light. |
8. |
Gather sharpie, bread trays/dollies and shopping carts. |
9. |
Lift Bay door and secure. |
10. |
Mark a vertical line through all bar codes on product, except drinks, produce and frozen items. |
11. |
Stack bread/desserts into blue bread trays. |
12. |
Place tortillas in shopping cart. |
13. |
Weigh all product at warehouse scale. Ensure you subtract weights of trays, dollies, carts from weight using the list on the front of the silver scale desk. |
14. |
List all weights on the HEB clipboard on the wall behind the warehouse desk. |
15. |
Breads/desserts/tortillas/produce/dairy go into the cooler. |
16. |
Any frozen product goes into the freezer. |
17. |
Dry goods/drinks go down the end of aisle 1 on the left. |
18. |
Ensure freezer and cooler door are completely closed. |
19. |
Return sharpie and clipboard to the desk and clipboard wall. |
20. |
Return extra carts/bread trays/dollies to their specified location. |
21. |
Close and secure Bay 4. |
22. |
Alarm the warehouse by pressing the AWAY button for 2 seconds. The green light will change to red light. |
23. |
Press green square “Push to Exit” button to exit through the door to the right of Bay 1. |
